The entrepreneur has developed multiple successful ventures that blend art, business, and civic engagement. After Hurricane Katrina, Fogarty spearheaded civic efforts in New Orleans aimed at protecting vulnerable citizens. The project, called Evacuspots, is the only known use of public art built into a disaster planning scenario in the world.
In 2010, the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl. Fogarty began writing on people’s bodies in black marker and taking their photographs. He’d ask people to share what they loved about New Orleans, and he called the project Dear New Orleans. Quickly, the organization evolved into Dear World. More than one million people have shared their story as of 2024.
Robert’s photograph is a tribute to his father, Edward. Who for as long as Robert can remember, has never given a Christmas or birthday card. Instead, his father writes letters on his custom yellow legal pads. We love yellow legal paper.
