Phillip Schrager is a highly successful Omaha entrepreneur, sponsor of an inner-city mentoring program, and a passionate collector of modern art. He is founder and chairman emeritus of Pacesetter Corporation, a manufacturer and direct seller of home improvement products. He is also founder of the Pacesetter Academy which mentors and provides financial and educational support to needy children. The program serves children from the fourth through twelfth grade and also provides college scholarships. In addition, Schrager has assembled one of the finest collections of contemporary art in the Midwest and is currently collaborating with Joslyn Art Museum on a new series of shows. He received an honorary degree from UNL in 1992 and the Order of the Tower Award from UNO in 1996. Schrager was named King of Ak-Sar-Ben in 2000 for his generosity, leadership, and dedication to the community.
Phillip passed away in 2010 at the age of 72.
