Max Kennedy provided the spark and leadership necessary to establish the Central High School Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Korean Casualty Memorial in 2003. His background includes Central High ROTC, Air Force ROTC at the University of Omaha, a commission as an USAF officer, and an MBA from Texas Christian University. While in the USAF, he was awarded Air Medals for Vietnam combat tours in both B-52 Bombers and AC-119K Gunships. He also earned a Bronze Star for work as a Procurement Officer in Saigon. Kennedy served at four aerospace corporations where he commanded military officers and civil service employees purchasing aircraft and space vehicles for the Armed Forces. After his Air Force career, he worked at three of the nation’s largest construction firms: Kiewit in Omaha, Brown and Root in Houston, and Eby in Wichita. He returned to Omaha to retire in 1998.
Max passed away in 2012 at the age of 76.
