A highly successful business career, holding both Program Manager and President positions at several High-Tech companies and lifelong athletic achievements in several sports highlight the life of Leonard Rosen. At CHS, Leonard competed in football, wrestling and track, winning state championships in wrestling and track. At UNL, Leonard competed in football and track, winning several track honors. He has continued competing in Masters and Seniors Track and Field, winning Gold medals in several regional and national events. As an engineer with Rockwell International, he led integration and test programs for the first cruise missile guidance system, the first ICBM guidance system, the Polaris/Poseidon submarine guidance system and the first military miniaturized semiconductor digital computer. With Raytheon, he was the Program Manager of the Hawk Missile Defense System, The Patriot Missile Defense System and restricted Smart Munitions Programs. During his Residency at ITT, he directed the total effort for air traffic and other radar systems programs for the U.S. forces and over twenty other nations. In addition to these achievements, Leonard has also been a college MBA instructor, a councilor and seminar presenter for the Small Business Administration and a high school weight coach.
Leonard passed away in 2022 at the age of 88.
