Lawrence R. Klein was awarded the Nobel Prize for economics in 1980 for his work in econometric forecasting. After attending Henry W. Yates Elementary and Omaha central , he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California Berkeley and earned a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . He established Wharton Forecasting Associates which provides economic services to hundreds of corporations. As President Jimmy Carter’s economic adviser, he urged more coordinated international efforts to improve overall world economics. He has received 28 honorary degrees from universities in fifteen countries. Lawrence Klein was Professor of Economics (Emeritus) at the University of Pennsylvania before he passed away.
Lawrence passed away in 2013 at the age of 93.
