Dr. Gary Gitnick founded the Fulfillment Fund in 1977. It provides over 1,000 volunteer mentors and over 3,000 annual scholarships for bright, disadvantaged, and disabled students to motivate them to complete school. Forbes magazine reported how Dr. Gitnick brings together movie stars and millionaires for fund-raisers to finance the Fund. First attending Omaha’s Druid Hill Elementary School and Central High, Dr. Gitnick then completed medical training at the University of Chicago, John Hopkins University Hospital, and the Mayo Clinic specializing in gastroenterology. As a nationally recognized expert on digestive diseases, he has published over 300 articles and authored 63 books. He is currently Chief of the Division of Digestive Diseases at the UCLA School of Medicine and President of the Medical Board of California.
Gary passed away in 2021 at the age of 82.
