Over a 25 year career in the field of financial services, and, more particularly, in the area of risk management, Charles A. Fishkin has become a recognized leader in the financial services industry as seen in his accomplishments while holding senior positions in major financial institutions in some of our country’s largest cities. One of his most significant accomplishments is that of his public service in holding a senior position with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the regulator of the nation’s securities markets. While with the SEC, he initiated and became Director of the agency’s Office of Risk Assessment, the goal being to anticipate risks in the securities and capital markets. After successfully developing and directing that office, he left to become Director of Risk Management for North America for AllianceBernstein LP, an international securities and asset management firm. In addition to his financial work, he has written a book, The Shape of Risk: A New Look at Risk Management, which presents a practical approach in helping readers to understand risk management concepts, and he has also served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Financial Engineers, helping to establish its Operational Risk Committee.
