Judy taught for 27 years at Central, serving as chair of the Special Education Department, active in the lives of students and a mentor to fellow faculty. After graduating with an education degree from UNO in 1980, Judy launched her 32-year OPS teaching career. She first came to Central in 1985. In addition to teaching, she served as sponsor for the Student Council and spring prom for 20 years. She received the National Association of Student Councils award for leadership of youth in 2005 and the Alice Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award in 2008. In retirement, Judy continued to substitute at Central and is a regular at Eagle activities. Her children, Central graduates Jennifer and Matt, followed her into education in OPS, Matt now a PE teacher and wrestling coach at Central. This is her second OPS Hall of Fame induction, as she was inducted into South High’s hall in 2012.
