Amount Funded
$2,500
“Producing quality plays that provide both performance and technical challenges helps students work together even harder to create an outstanding production. I am thankful for the support from the Foundation and am SO PROUD of the hard work, time and dedication of the cast and crew in this production. The Play That Goes Wrong…went RIGHT at CHS!”

Commitment to Closing the Opportunity Gap
In a short amount of time, the cast and crew worked hard to produce a Broadway-caliber production. Because of the integral part the physical set plays in the plot of the show, students were able to work with quality technical supplies and scenic elements as the set was designed and literally put into motion. Funding from the CHS Foundation helped cover the cost of many aspects of the show including hiring guest artists to teach stage combat/sword fighting and aid students with correct articulation of British dialect. Dedicated adult volunteers assisted the director and students to create, plan, prepare for, and perform this show.
Translation to College and Career Readiness
Students gained valuable technical and planning skills, performance, collaboration, teamwork, and self-confidence that can assist them in careers in the entertainment industry and are applicable to any career field.
“Performing in The Play That Goes Wrong was a new and thrilling experience. The British accents, stage fighting, and technical elements created so many great memories and allowed me learn more about acting. I loved being a part of this production and it has helped me to connect with more people through the
CHS Drama Department.”
